The Sight of You ~ THANK YOU

We are so excited to share the new music video with you on October 14th, 7pm at Ricky D's Retro Theater in the lovely town of Madison, GA.  Remember a percentage of all ticket sales will go towards the building of a restoration home for women and children rescued from human trafficking through the ministry of iCare4.org  -- Be sure to check out their website on ways to be part of this cause.

The new single, "The Sight of You", digitally releases on Tuesday Sept. 23rd on iTunes, Amazon, cdbaby.  This will give you plenty of time to memorize the song so you can sing along at the video premiere!  How fun would that be?!   I'd really appreciate it if you would tell your friends and family by helping share on social media.  The more shares, the more we can continue to help others in need as well as continue to create new music.  Thank you for your constant support and prayers throughout this musical journey.  You will never know how much it means to my family and me.
Thank you!

I would like to thank Kurt Denmark of Denmark Productions for producing the song and what an amazing job you did - simply beautiful.  You really outdid yourself on this one, brother.  I really enjoyed just getting to be creative and then letting you take it all to the next level musically.  It's great working with someone like you on a song like this.  Something special truly happened.  I cannot wait to share it!  Thanks for everything you and Melaine do to host me while I'm hanging out recording.  I love you guys.

There aren't enough ways or words to express how grateful I am to have had the honor of working with some of the best actors and crew in the making of the new music video.
This video came to life because of their generosity and sacrifice.

Bowler Hat Films:  Ryan Norton and Slade Curtis - you both are so sincere, fun and great at what you do!  Thank you for all the hours of planning and walking me through the process of what it takes to put something like this together.  Thank you for every kind word of encouragement and for believing in this song and video.
Thank you for all the hours you will put into editing too....
It's a joy to know you guys and call you my friends.

The Cast:

Kristin Link (Mary) - I'm so glad our paths have crossed and we were able to do this project together.  You were the perfect fit for this role in every way and I thank you for saying yes!  You shine inside/out and it's easy to see the love of God all over your life.  You are radiant!  I love that you love missions too!  Thank you for giving it your best - every single time - all day long!  You amazed us all!

Peter Swanson (Walt) - I'm so glad it worked out for you to be part of this story.
You were so great to work and had everyone cracking up.  Your kind heart was overflowing in every scene and we all loved watching you. I do hope you learned a lot about parenting and maybe one day when you have your own kids, you'll remember to thank Slade and Datha for the invaluable lesson Cash taught you. LOL  You're a great guy and extremely gifted.  I can't wait to see more of your work!

Martha Kennedy (Old Mary) - It was a real pleasure to work with you Mrs. Martha.  I was blown away by your ability to capture us all with such emotion and grace.  Thank you for being part of this project and for all the travel you did to get here both days.  You were a blast and truly made everyone feel so special.  I'm so sorry you will miss the premiere but I'll make it up to you somehow, someway.  You are a real star and I loved every minute of our time together.  One day I want to sit down over coffee and hear all about your mission travels.

Eddie Gadrix (Older Walt) - Mr. Eddie, you were so much fun onset and such a trooper!!  I loved the way you just went for it and didn't hold back with your character.  Thank you for giving your best and for taking the time out of your very busy schedule.  You were the cherry on top for sure!  I can't wait to see your web series and hear you play trombone also.
I'm looking forward to seeing you in Madison on Oct. 14th!!

Will Norton (young Walt) - Will, you were amazing!  Thank you for being in the video and for helping Maisey get through the day without passing out.  I am so proud of you for giving it your best.  You are a brave boy with a great talent.  I didn't know I was working with
Mr. Newton County!  Way to go, Will!!
Thanks Ryan and Amanda for allowing Will to be part of the video.

Maisey Bowen (young Mary) - Maisey, we are so proud of you for doing this even though we know it's not easy stepping out of your comfort zone.  Thanks for trying something new and for pushing through to the end.  We see you drawing those storyboards and creative comics. One day, those stories in your heart will be told in some form or fashion and people will listen.   Dad and I will always be your biggest fans and cheerleaders.  We love you!

Cash Curtis (young Johnny) - Dear Cash, one day you'll understand why we made you wear that crazy costume and bribed you with snacks, but until then, please forgive us for making you chase your mom and dad around in a strange yard.  You were a champ and a cute one at that!  Thanks Datha and Slade for letting Cash be part of the video.

Evan Goodwin (Johnny) - Thanks for being part of this video and thanks for telling me you liked my songs!!  LOL -- I really enjoyed getting to chat with you about acting and your upcoming role.  That's so exciting!  Your passion for this is contagious and I'm so glad you were able to work it out to be here.  I look forward to seeing you and all your frat brothers on the 14th as well as meeting your girlfriend.  Thanks Evan for everything!

The Crew:

Production Assistant - David Disharoon - Dish, you are a true gentlemen.  You love to serve with excellence (I guess that's why you rock at CFA)!  Your attitude is always positive and you're an incredible team player.  Thank you for being a great friend to Brad and me.
We love you and can't wait until the GIVE LOVE tour!

Wardrobe:  Kelly Disharoon - Kelly, I'm pretty sure you are the sweetest person I know.  I truly mean that.  You always have a smile on your face and are ready to jump in with both feet to do whatever is needed.  You did an amazing job at piecing the wardrobe together for so many actors and so many scene changes.  You killed it!
This is only the beginning for you!  I'm grateful to have a friend like you.

Stylist:  Kristin Butler - Well, you just make me laugh - a lot.  And you're awesome at what you do!  I love how God has connected us as friends through our awesome church.  Thank you for putting together a team of other stylists to help make the shoot go so smoothly.  I truly appreciate every second you gave to make these actors look amazing and especially stepping up to do the aging makeup.  You are a great team player!  Thank you!!
You deserve a lifetime supply of diet coke!

Hair Stylist:  Jessica Kennedy - You were tons of fun to work with and I thank you for everything you did to make the actors look beautiful.  I'm glad we were able to meet and chat a bit - hopefully; we'll get to work together again.  You did an awesome job!

Make Up and Special Effects Make Up:  Kim Bogash, Eden York and Meagan Reynolds - You ladies were so great to work with and made each actor fit each scene so well.  I really appreciate how serious you all took your role in providing the look so carefully for each actor.  I enjoyed watching you work your magic and greatly appreciate everything you did to make it all happen!  Thank you!!

Photography: Demetrius Washington - You go way above and beyond just taking photos.  You have a heart to serve and it's evident.  Your photos are breathtaking and I cannot wait to share them all!  Thank you for everything you did to capture each scene, actor, and the tiniest of details.  You are very gifted and it was awesome having you part of this project!
I’m truly honored.

Props:  Vicki Worsham - I'm so glad that we've connected over the years.  I love having you part of the team because you bring a sense of calm to the chaos.  I really appreciate you giving of your time; especially, since you were in the middle of packing for China.  I'm so very proud of you my brave friend.  I love you!

Take a Look

Field of Daffodils - The Song

After I wrote the song, I let it sit on the shelf for almost a year.  It was one of those songs where I felt I just needed to put a pause on it for a while.  Kurt Denmark of Denmark Productions is a long time friend and when he wanted to produce some songs for me, I knew I had one tucked back for such a time as this and it would be a great fit for us to tackle.  Kurt is a super gifted singer, songwriter, musician and producer.  He created the entire track by playing every instrument and he even did the backing vocals.  Working with Kurt was tons of fun and being able to spend some time with his lovely wife, Melaine and their kids, made the recording experience extra special.  Btw, Melanie can make the best home-made hummus!

Field of Daffodil - Music Video

This project was filled with joy from start to finish and I think everyone on set was bubbly and excited just as much as I was!  I really appreciate everyone who had a hand (literally) in making of the video:  Vicky Worsham, Kristin Butler, Clayton Odum, Taylor Odum, Kristen Koontz, Butch Dover and my two sisters, Kelli and Renee, who helped with Maisey on the day of the shoot.  Brad, my awesome husband, is my biggest supporter & encourager.  He is my sounding board and it's great having his ideas and critique.  I'm especially grateful to have worked with Bowler Hat Films.  Slade Curtis and Ryan Norton are two great guys who truly made it happen with such ease.  They both made me feel comfortable in front of the camera and encouraged me the entire time through the process.  I enjoyed working with them and hope to do more projects in the near future.  Be sure to check out their website at www.bowlerhatfilms.com

Just for fun, here is a photo of the storyboard!

Everyone that is on my music email list had the first opportunity to see the video yesterday and now it's time to share here!  I hope this song makes you happy! Enjoy & celebrate love!

New Single Coming Soon!

Hello Bloggers & Friends...

Time has gotten away from me with all things "blog world".  However, I'm back like a boomerang ready to celebrate the new season and a new single!  Coming May 10th, is the release date for the song, "Field of Daffodils".  I am excited to have had it produced by Kurt Denmark of Denmark Productions.  Kurt is a good friend and I knew he would take this song to a dreamy-whimsical place...and that's exactly what he did.  I cannot wait for you to feast your ears on it!  So, stay tuned!

WHAT INSPIRED THE SONG?
One day a fews years back, Katie, my niece, and I were vintage shopping in our lovely Downtown Monroe.  We accidentally came across a barrel filled with a big bundle of beautiful daffodils.  She smiled and said, without hesitation, "When I get married, I want to get married in a field of daffodils."  I giggled and immediately started writing the song in the middle of the vintage shop.  It's a bit-tounge-in-cheek but none-the-less, happy and hopeful.  One day, I believe Katie will get married in a field of daffodils to the man God has purposed for her and we will look back on this song and recount that special moment we had that day shopping.  This song is dedicated to her and to all single ladies in waiting!  Thanks Katie for that vintage "bonding" moment we shared!  I hope the song puts a big smile on your sweet face!

Katie graduates May 10th from Emmanuel College and she will go on to teach high-school English - her life-long dream.  We are so very proud of her and want to celebrate the beautiful woman she is.

Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope as you enjoy the spring season, take time to slow down to enjoy the beauty and wonder of our Creator.  Hey, why not take a drive down a country road and pick some daffodils to brighten up your view and on May 10th, download this song and share with your friends.  Thank you so much for your support!  Oh, and I updated my website incase you'd like to have a gander.  www.carriebowen.com
