Red Cape

"The Red Cape"

The red cape draped her soft neck as it flowed from her shoulders down to the ground. With twirls and spins, her little world was wrapped up in superhero fantasies all afternoon even until nap time. Everyone stared to see who this heroine was that dared to enter the building tonight as she slipped in, thinking she was unnoticed. Nothing could keep her from the imaginary that day. No funny comments or cute remarks would disarm the girl. Comfortable in her cape, she means
business and her mission was not utterly impossible!

This is how I want to be more and more as I grow into the woman God created me to be: adorned in His righteousness and covered by His blood, I am more than a conquer. No matter how the impossibilities stack up against me, the covering of my ever-present Hope has my back and I can do all things through His mighty strength.

Romans 12:2 says, "So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be
changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."

Sometimes it takes a child's play to remind us that we are on a journey of growth to becoming more & more like Christ. With each spin, I will wear His confidence. With each twirl, I will wear His love armor to be His representative in the earth. As His cape of acceptance flows from my shoulders to the floor, I can fully rest in His power to tackle the impossible. What an honor and what a joy it is to walk in His love, confident in who He is as my Maker.

So tonight as she grips my arm with the tightest of hugs and says, "I love you, mama", an overwhelming tenderness from heaven touches earth as this child of mine lives out love to her mother. I am blessed with a lovely daughter who cares about the things of God and this makes me want to make a difference! Making God's business my business with holy, empowered, and anointed creativity is more real than ever. May the songs of my heart to His heart break chains of bondage and help
bring healing to the wounded so that pure worship erupts for Christ our King! May the funds we raise reach little girls across the seas who are desperate for rescue and may those in foreign villages who are thirsty for clean water, find it!

So if you're 4 or 64, with or without a red cape, YOU can make a difference if you allow His love to rule your heart. Thanks for your support and prayers!
