Today is the first day of a brand new year and I just may have to break down and go buy a "new car" scent to celebrate the newness that's all around! I just can't stand it! There is just something refreshing about a new start, a new chapter of a book, a new toothbrush, a new experience, a new baby, a new pack of gum, a new friend, a new hair cut, a new pair of shoes...you get it : )
And there is something extra spectacular about sensing the presence of the Lord as He makes the old things NEW again & again. I'm living proof of this heavenly exchange.
My pastor shared this powerful phrase today & it was so profound: "You'll never be tomorrow what you're not becoming today." START NOW! We can't wait for opportunities to fall in our lap....we must LIVE our life to it's fullest & go for it with Godly confidence! We are His children and we are LOVED.....so LIVE!! As I reflect on this tonight I am so encouraged to know that my "becoming" is on the path of God's grace. It's by HIS power that this hope can take flight. I'm pumped & excited about the NOW & this YEAR!!
If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. (Matt. 6:33)
