Just wanted to thank my pastor, David Smith, for this lovely write up that was announced on the North GA Church of God website today. I really appreciate the kind words and how you and Monroe Church of God believe in me & my family. Just incase you missed it, I've copied it here for your enjoyment!
Monroe Church of God Worship Leader To Minister In South Africa
On April 27th, Carrie Bowen, worship leader and director of creative arts at the Monroe Church of God, will be heading to South Africa, along with her family, to minister at the Nelspruit Lighthouse Church in Nelspruit, South Africa. This church has founded an organization known as Arise Africa, which is the compassion arm of their ministry. Arise Africa has assisted in projects including a Micro-finance project in Livingstone, Zambia, a Community Development center in Kasama, South Africa, and Monthly soup kitchens and clothes distribution in one of the poorest townships in South Africa. It is crippled by stifling unemployment, rampant witchcraft, and very high rates of violent crime and sexual assault.
Pastor David Smith states, "Brad and Carrie Bowen have an incredible passion for world missions. They are both seasoned and experienced in world evangelism. Carrie leads our congregation into the presence of God each week, and is extremely gifted in singing and writing songs that speak to heart of those who hear her music. I know that everyone will want to be a part of supporting this missions effort, as well as being blessed by the music of Carrie Bowen."
As part of the Bowen's fundraising efforts, Carrie is releasing a 2 song EP tribute for mothers and daughters that is set to release on March 20th. All proceeds from this CD will go directly toward the expense of this mission trip. This CD will be available for download on iTunes, Amazon, cdbaby and facebook from her music page.
